David Bowie-70th Birthday Tribute

Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott was among the guests at a David Bowie 70th birthday celebration Sunday in London.

Celebrating David Bowie With Gary Oldman and Friends was held at the Brixton Academy, not far from where Bowie was raised. It featured many of his bandmates over the years, including guitarist Earl Slick.

Elliott sang “All the Young Dudes,” which Bowie wrote, but was made famous by one of Elliott’s favorite bands, Mott the Hoople.

Also on the bill were Simon Le Bon from Duran Duran; Bernard Fowler, who sings with The Rolling Stones; and Sting’s son, Joe Sumner. Sting will perform at a Bowie tribute on January 24th at The Wiltern in L.A.

Tomorrow  is the first anniversary of Bowie’s death from cancer.
