NAMM TEC AWARDS- Joe Perry Honored, Performs With Vampires

Joe Perry of Aerosmith was honored with the prestigious Les Paul Award at the 32nd annual NAMM TEC Awards, held Saturday at the NAMM Show in Anaheim, California.

His award was presented to him by his Hollywood Vampires bandmate Johnny Depp, who said he first picked up a guitar because of Perry. Perry gave a brief acceptance speech, then took the stage with Depp, Alice Cooper, Robert De Leo and the rest of his current side project, plus his long-time Aerosmith guitar partner Brad Whitford, for a mini-set that included “Sweet Emotion,” “Walk This Way” and “Train Kept A-Rollin.”

Before receiving it, Perry told us what getting an award with the late Les Paul’s name attached to it means to him.
