‘Lady-friendly’ Doritos on the way

What’s being described as a “lady-friendly” version of Dorito’s is coming soon. PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi told the Freakonomics podcast recently that, while guys like to lick their fingers and crunch away, women approach chips differently. She says women don’t want to “crunch too loudly in public.”

If you’re one of those crunch-concerned people, Nooyi says the company’s getting ready to launch a socially acceptable snack chip in the near future. They may not be universally accepted, though… The New York Post reports a spokesperson for the Women’s Equality Party as saying, “Companies that perpetuate these tired gender stereotypes will continue to lose out on the single biggest consumer group: women.”
