When you don't want to mount a projector

No one wants their home to look like a conference room, which the people at LG seem to appreciate. Their new HECTO Laser TV projector system uses Ultra Short Throw technology, so the projector has to be less than two feet from the specialized screen to work properly, which means no ceiling mounts necessary.

The system comes with a 100-inch screen which can be set up just like a flat screen TV, except this one can be rolled up when not in use. The projector comes with an RS-232 interface, 10W speakers, three HDMI ports, and audio out. You can also set up your projector with Smart TV, which means web browsing and video on demand.

The projector's bulb also lasts five times longer than most mercury lamps, clocking in at 25,000 hours.

No word on pricing, but the HECTO should be available this summer.
