Big name tablet, little price tag

Here's a tablet you probably didn't hear about during the CES 2013 hubbub: the ASUS MeMo Pad.

And with a name like ASUS, you might be preparing yourself for some sticker shock.  But what if I told you a MeMo Pad starts at $149?

What does that $150 get you? You'll get a 7" tabley with 1024x600 resolution complete with Android Jelly Bean.  It's got 16GB of storage, 1 GB of RAM, and a front-facing camera (1 MP).  You get access to all of Google Play's 750,000 apps as well as all of the books and music your heart desires.

One big difference between the MeMo and other tablets (especially the Nexus 7, which could be its twin): it won't be getting a keyboard dock, so you're stuck typing on a touchscreen.

Here's Engadget's take on the tablet as well as the press release.
