The mother of all CD players

The idea of buying a new CD player sounds a bit dated. But that's before you learn that said CD player can stream music from your smartphone, tablet, PC, and NAS drive. Yamaha's new CD-N500 uses their Network Player Controller mobile app for iOS, Android and the Kindle Fire to sync up all your digital music with the player. So yeah, it's a bit more advanced than your Discman.
The CD-N500 was nothing new overseas, but was just released in the US for the first time. According to Yamaha, the player uses a Hi-Fi approach to create more natural-sounding music.
All that connectivity and natural sound comes at a price; the CD-N500 is selling for $799.
