Bob Dylan Fans get a really cool artifact today. An album called The Basement Tapes Influences is out. If you’re not familiar with The Basement Tapes, it was an album Dylan put out in 1975 of recordings he did with The Band at The Big Pink in 1967 in Woodstock, New York. The Basement Tapes are mostly covers of blues, country and folk songs. This album has the original versions of the songs that Dylan covered on The Basement Tapes.

Season two of Boss is out on BluRay today, The Kelsey Grammer drama set in Chicago that aired on Showtime. The second season happens to be the last season because the show got canned.

The tech toy of the week is the Krups EA9000.

This is the Lexus of coffee makers. It’s a drip coffee maker, an espresso machine, and a hot water kettle that will make you a coffee, espresso shots, cappuccinos, lattes and just about anything else you can think of. You fill it with water and beans and plug it in and that’s just about all of it. There’s are two buttons and a 3 inch by 4 inch touchscreen. If you want a latte or anything with milk or cream, it tells you how much to put in the mug, and then it’ll extend the espresso spout and milk frother into the cup to layer the coffee below the cream. Oh and it’s self cleaning.

So if the EA 9000 is the Lexus of coffee makers, what does it cost. Well... $2,500, which is 769 grande vanilla lattes, or one 1994 Lexus ES 300 with 132,000 miles on it.
