Michael Che

Our comic for the month of May is Micheal Che! Michael is a stand-up comic from the Lower East Side of Manhattan. . As a performer, Che cites Patrice O'Neal and George Carlin as his biggest influences. He appreciates performers that can identify humanity in the most controversial actions and convey it to the audience through humor -- which is the approach he takes with his comedy. Che has been featured at major comedy clubs throughout Manhattan, but has built a name for himself playing alternative rooms in New York's downtown scene. He has appeared on IFC's Bunk, Comedy Central and has written for Saturday Night Live. Check out Michael on the Late Show with David Letterman below!



Tommy Johnagin

Our comic of the month for April is Tommy Johnagin! 

Tommy is an autobiographical story telling comedian who is a favorite at comedy clubs all across the country. In 2007 Tommy was invited to the prestigious “Just For Laughs” comedy festival in Montreal, Canada where he was the highest reviewed “New Face.” He has also appeared at Comedy Central’s “South Beach Comedy Festival”

TV credits include: Four appearances on “The Late Show” with David Letterman. His own half-hour special on Comedy Central, Comedy Central’s “Live at Gotham” and, “John Oliver’s New York Stand-up Show”. In 2010 he finished 2nd on NBC’s Last Comic Standing. He’s also appeared on CMT’s “Comedy Stage” and TBS’s “Very Funny Stand Up Show”

He has also been a guest numerous times on the nationally syndicated radio programs “The Bob and Tom Show” and the “The Ron and Fez Show”.

 



Erin Jackson

 Our comic of the month for March is the talented Erin Jackson! Since first making a name for herself at colleges and east coast comedy clubs, Erin's warm, conversational style and relatable humor have helped to propel her onto the national stage. She has performed on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" and Comedy Central’s "Live at Gotham," and was a semifinalist on season 6 of NBC’s "Last Comic Standing." Erin has also appeared on VH-1 and worked with both HBO and BET on live comedy and awards specials. She's been a panelist on pop-culture countdown shows such as "40 Greatest Hip Hop Songs of the 90's" and "Best Movie Kisses" and was featured most recently on TV Guide Network's "StandUp in Stilettos." Erin is currently touring the country as part of the "Pumps & Punchlines" theatre tour.

Our comic of the month for February is the lovable Pete Holmes!  Maybe you saw his half-hour Comedy Central Presents. Or on Conan. Or Jimmy Fallon. Or maybe you saw him on VH1. Or heard him as the e*trade baby or on Comedy Central's Ugly Americans. Pete was named one of Variety's Top Ten Comics to Watch in 2011. Pete also draws cartoons for The New Yorker, wrote for NBC's "Outsourced" and FOX's "I Hate My Teenage Daughter." He is a regular on CollegeHumor.com and makes videos with FrontPage Films. Nick Vatterot

The Comic of the Month for January is someone who got their start right here in Chicago. Nick Vatterot!

In 2010 Nick Vatterott performed on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and The Hollywood
Reporter named Nick one of the "break-outs" of the New Faces showcase at Montreal's Just
for Laughs Comedy Festival. Nick has performed all over the world, from Caroline's in NYC's
Times Square to Old City Comedy Club in Istanbul's Taksim Square. He has toured with
Chicago's storied Second City comedy theater and his sketch group 'Heavyweight' has
performed at Second City's Unhinged and the Toronto Just for Laughs Festival. . And before heading off to NYC in 2008, Chicago Magazine listed Nick "The Funniest
Man inChicago".



Steve Byrne

Our comic of the month for December is Steve Byrne!

The first time he ever got on stage was at Stand Up New York on September 30, 1997.[2] Steve spent the first seven years of his stand up career cutting his teeth as a stand up in NYC. He was notorious for being absolutely obsessed with getting up on stage as much as he could. He's been cited as saying he spent those seven years working seven days a week, working every single night he could, including New Years, Christmas, etc., doing as many sets as possible. Steve has been featured on the NBC series The Real Wedding Crashers and a featured comedian on The Tonight Show. He has made appearances on Chappelle's Show, Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn, The History Channel's "History of the Joke," Mad TV's 300th episode and Super Bowl promos on CBS with Prince ...



Ted Alexandro

Our Comic of The Month for November is Ted Alexandro. Ted began doing stand-up in 1994 in NY. For the next five years Ted taught elementary school music in NYC’s public school system by day and performed at open mics by night. Finally he left teaching to dedicate himself fully to writing and standup.

Ted has performed on David Letterman, Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Kimmel, Craig Ferguson, The View and two half-hour specials on Comedy Central.

Joe Derosa

The comic for the month of October is the hilarious Joe DeRosa.

Joe DeRosa is an accomplished comedian who has become a regular on The Opie and Anthony radio show and Fox New's Redeye. DeRosa has made guest appearances on FX's Louie and HBO's Bored to Death and has directed, edited, and starred in several shorts. Joe also taped his half hour Comedy Central Special in the winter of 2009, and his debut album "The Depression Auction" was released in 2010.

Kurt Braunohler

Our comic for the month of September is the very funny Kurt Braunohler. He was recently named one of Variety’s “Top 10 Comics to Watch” as well as Time Out NY’s “50 Funniest New Yorkers”. He was even named another “Comic to Watch” by Comedy Central and the New York Comedy Festival. And finally  was called the “Best Male Stand-Up” by the ECNY and “Best Unscripted Host” by the New York Television Festival.

Kurt will debuted his high-energy, absurdist point-of-view on Comedy Central’s John Oliver Presents in June. As far as stages, Kurt has performed at the HBO US Comedy Arts Festival, Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal and Chicago, New York Comedy Festival (named a “Comic to Watch”), SXSW, Bonaroo, All Tomorrow’s Parties, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (IF.Comedy Award nominee), Melbourne Comedy Festival (Barry Award Winner), the HBO Vegas Comedy Festival and the Chicago Improv Festival.



Rory Scovel

The comic of the month for August, Rory Scovel was just named one of Variety's Top 10 Comics to watch. Rory has made a name for himself touring all across North America. Rory Scovel has opened theater shows for such comics as Louis C.K., Daniel Tosh and Nick Swardson.

Rory's Comedy Central half hour special debuted in May, and his new album Dilation was released earlier this year. Check out Rory in action below!
