‘Tis the Season!

I talked about it on the radio this morning with Maxwell and it’s still on my mind so now I’m going to blog about it…! :)

It may not feel like the holiday season is here with this amazingly warm weather in Chicago, but it is. And what do the holidays mean… PRESENTS!!! Make sure to get your shopping in for Christmas, Hanukkah, and every other holiday I couldn’t think of; don’t be a procrastinator like myself.

I would also like you to strongly consider doing something more than buying gifts for your friends and family. As a Marine, I was always very involved with the Toys For Tots program. Toys For Tots provides low income families with toys who would not otherwise be able to give their children presents. Having worked for this organization on many different occasions and seeing first-hand what they do, I can say that this organization is making a huge difference in communities. If you want more information on how to donate, where to donate, or even where to volunteer your time go to

Another great organization that The Loop is promoting is The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program. Businesses, offices, organizations, churches, clubs families or any group that wishes to participate can request Angel Tree “tags” from The Salvation Army. Each tag represents the wishes of a real child or youth (toys, clothes, books, hats and gloves). Unlike a toy drive, the Angel Tree program fulfills families’ and children’s specific needs and wishes for the holiday season. To learn more about this program you can visit

In short, there are many amazing organizations out there that are doing their best to make sure everyone has the best holiday possible, so check them out, find out which one stands out to you, and make sure everyone is having as great of a holiday season as you are!

Thank you!!!
