Rush in the New Year

This August will mark 45 years since a Canadian band named Rush formed outside of Toronto.  On April 18th, the trio of Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2013.  The event is to be held at the Nokia Theater to be broadcast on HBO May 18th.

But there will be plenty more to keep fans of Rush busy until then.  Geddy Lee will make a very rare television appearance on “How I Met Your Mother”. The February 4th episode of the CBS sitcom will feature a bevy of Canadian celebrities such as Paul Schaffer, Alex Trebek and hockey star, Luc Robitaille.

Also, Rush has announced the release of “Clockwork Angels Live” on DVD to be released on May 21st.  This will be the 8th live release from Rush in their illustrious career.

We all love Rush, but Neil did not form the band with Alex and Geddy in 1968 (45 years ago), He joined in 1974 after the first album was released.
