Super Bowl Halftime Acts That Rocked
Posted 2/3/2013 9:17:00 AM

On Monday (2/4/13) throughout the 97@9 The Loop will feature some of the best rockers who performed during Super Bowl halftime shows.

Some of my favorites...

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band from Super Bowl XLIII. For anyone that doubted the importance of Clarence Clemons to the band pay close attention to how this show opened...

Tom Petty from Super Bowl XLII.  There was an actual Las Vegas betting prop on whether or not Tom Petty would light a joint while on stage during the performance.

The Rolling Stones from Super Bowl XL. Do you think Mick and Keith or actual football fans

Paul McCartney from Super Bowl XXIX. This was the year after the Janet Jackson "wardrobe malfunction" and the NFL needed to play it safe. Paul McCartney wasn't going to embarrass anyone and he put on a fantastic show...

The Who from Super Bowl XLIV. Like The Rolling Stones, I doubt these guys are huge fans of our most popular sport in America...

U2 from Super Bowl XXXVI.  The 1st Super Bowl following the 9-11 tragedy and Bono pays a fitting tribute during the performance...

Kiss at Super Bowl XXXIII.  Part of a show that included Chaka Khan, Gloria Estefan, Stevie Wonder, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and Savion Glover. The cheerleaders in Kiss makeup creeped me out just a bit...

Aerosmith along with some bubble game bands from Super Bowl XXXV. I'm not sure what Steven was thinking....
