Paul McCartney Wants to Close Candlestick Park

It was the last venue for the Beatles; back in 1966 Candlestick Park hosted the Beatles last show. The legendary stadium is now scheduled to be torn down next year and Sir Paul has offered a great idea… he wants to be the last show at Candlestick.

Mayor Ed Lee was surprised by the suggestion from the mad bassman about a half hour before he hit the stage at this year's Outside Lands Festival. "And it was him who made the suggestion," Lee said. "Believe me, it wasn't something I, or anyone else, was expecting."

Paul is no stranger to this type of action, he played Shea stadium right before it was demolished back in 2009.

”Well, if you are going to tear down the stadium next year, we should think about us doing the last concert there.” Said McCartney, “You know my agent. Why don’t we follow-up with him?”

It’s a little far for me to travel, but I’m sure the local residents will be thrilled to have such an amazing event bid farewell to their legendary stadium.
