What? The Grammys are gonna Rock on Sunday?
1/24/2014 1:35:00 PM
The Grammy awards will have all-star lineup for the closing performance this Sunday, featuring Nine Inch Nails, Queens of the Stone Age, Dave Grohl and Fleetwood Mac's Lindsey Buckingham.
"We're incredibly excited about this number," Grammy executive producer Ken Ehrlich said in a statement via Spin. "There's nothing better than when the Grammys can rock out, and to have these artists all together on one stage, doing a number that, when they presented it to us, knocked us out, is going to turn out to be one of those Grammy moments that people talk about for a long time. Long live Trent, Josh, Dave and Lindsey and these great bands."
The performers are linked by 13-time Grammy winner Dave Grohl, who has been featured on both QOTSA and Nine Inch Nails songs. Lindsey Buckingham appears in "Sound City: Real to Reel," Grohl's documentary about the legendary studio Los Angeles.
The 56th Grammys will also host Paul McCartney with Ringo Starr and Metallica will perform their song "One" with Chinese concert pianist Lang Lang at Los Angeles' Staples Center.
That's the good news. The bad news is we have to sit through the rest of the show. Oh, wait. We don't. There will be highlight videos posted on Monday.
