Unlike the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame which is a private company with a somewhat cloaked method of who they honor, the Songwriters Hall of Fame is an award you can really hang your hat on.
"I love that Joe and I are getting inducted tonight because we put our nose to the grindstone. We can't get harmony if everybody is singing the same note." Perry added, "It means that people are listening to what we're doing. Like Steven said, we're always under the hood working, or we're on the road, whatever. That's what the band is, it's work, and we're doing it."
Steven, Joe, Mick and Lou are joined by serious songwriters. Last year Bob Seger was inducted into the ...

Rolling Stone Ranks Possible Band Reunions and Sends Spencer Into A Rant

Rolling Stone magazine has posted the odds of 14 bands reuniting. There's Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin, of course. And ABBA. And N'Sync. What? You're surprised? C'mon! It was Rolling Stone publisher and chairman of The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Jan Wenner who finally got his wish this year when disco queen Donna Summer was inducted into the "rock & roll" hall. And it was likely Mr. Wenner and his flamboyant record industry pals who rallied to get ABBA inducted while making Rush wait.
Wenner is, according to Rush's Neil Peart, "the world’s most powerful Rush-hater, rumored to have personally kept us out of the Hall of Fame all these years!"
IMHO, Rolling Stone magazine is an elitist piece of s*** that long ago lost it's way. It is guided by self-absorbed hacks (critics) and insider record company types who, quite frankly, are just a lot smarter than ...

Rock Girls, Girls, Girls!

Check out these hotties from this morning on WGN News. Present and past Loop Rock Girls (l-r on video) Shannon, Crystal, Lindsey, Kelly Marie and Trisha appeared on the morning program to promote the benefit for 2005 Loop Rock Girl Erica. The event will be held on Wednesday, June 19 at Public House from 6-8pm. So I went looking for his recipe. Not dissapointed! It's everything I would have hoped for. Now if I could j ust find his recipe for enchilada sauce...
I love the photo (right) of Billy shopping for avocados. The look on that woman's face is priceless.

The new Black Sabbath record “13” has gone straight to number one in the UK. This is Ozzy and the boys first number one record since 1970’s paranoid. As a result, they have broken a world record.. The longest time between number 1’s. Not sure that a great record to break, however since the outcome is a cool spot at the top of the charts, I’m guessing nobody is going to complain.
Previously, it was Mr. Rod Stewart who held the longest gap in the UK with 37 years between number 1’s. Before that it was Bob Dylan.
"I'm in shock. The success of this album has blown me off my feet. We've never hard a record climb the charts so fast." Said the Ozzmeister.

Plant and Coverdale famously traded verbal jabs after the former Deep Purple vocalist teamed up with Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page for the short-lived 1993 Coverdale-Page album and tour.
In interviews at the time, Plant openly expressed his disdain for the Whitesnake singer, referring to him as "David Cover-version." Coverdale was equally vitriolic in his response, saying about the Led Zeppelin frontman, "There's certainly no love lost between myself and Robert… I wouldn't send him cat food if he was starving."
During an interview set to be broadcast Wednesday on the "Classic Rock Magazine Show", Coverdale offered an olive branch to Plant.
"My last words to Jimmy in London were: 'I'd love to buy Robert a drink. I said, 'When you speak ...

Illinois Motorcycle Freedom Run Saturday

This Saturday is a worthy ride, show your support for our fallen heroes in the Illinois Motorcycle Freedom Run. And he proved he's still got chops.
Colbert discussed the logistics of having Sir Paul on the show, saying the legend’s tight schedule made things a little difficult to get everything ready in time. “As with any musical guest, we have to secure the broadcast rights to their songs, clear the lyrics with legal, and, of course, nail down our camera and our lighting angles,” Colbert joked on the show. “So I told Sir Paul we absolutely had to know in advance what songs he’d be playing. He said, ‘I understand completely. I’ll decide when I get there.”
McCartney performed six songs on the show, including the Beatles’ classics “Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite,” “I’ve Just Seen a Face” and “Lady Madonna,” as well as Wings’ “Hi, Hi, ...

Aerosmith Full Concert Video from Sydney

Earlier this year Aerosmith played the Stone Music Festival in Syndey on April 20 and now a cool video of their full set has surfaced. ZZ Top guitarist Billy Gibbons spoke about the band’s success over the past four decades on “In the Studio with Redbeard” in Dallas:
“There’s a lot of luck, to start with. Some of these things you would like to prophesy, to plan this going a certain way,” Gibbons told Redbeard. “And yet it’s always unpredictable, always probably exactly opposite what you think you’re going to do. But the first few notes that you’re rippin’, the first few chops that you’re stabbin’ at, you just don’t know where you’re going.”
Dusty Hill, the band’s bassist, talked about the band’s transformation over the years from its bluesy beginning to a more electronic sound.
“As much as the music changed, hopefully we changed with it,” Hill said. “But we play ...
