Maybe I’m biased because A) I love Pink Floyd B) I love Poland and C) I love anything on my new HD TV,
but I love David Gilmour’s new concert film, “Live in Gdansk.”
He plays all of the Pink Floyd hits and stuff from his
latest “On an Island” album (sweet stuff).
His band is great and Richard Wright is on keyboards – had to be one of
his last appearances before his death.
Oh, and it looks AWESOME in HD!

Most musicians suffer the inevitable consequences of long term drug use and age, but DG truly is the exception. He is like a fine wine--better with age. His voice and guitar blends perfectly, making the most texturizing and spiritually uplifting musical sound I've ever heard. Not to mention--no other blues driven guitarists can solo with more feel that DG.
I can't get enough of his acoustic video's on Youtube. Give it a spin. The acoustic High Hopes is breathtaking, as well as Shine on and Coming Back to Life.
One of the biggest bonehead things I've ever done was not see him when he came to Rosemont for the "On an Island" tour. Now I have to travel to Warsaw to see him do a charity gig if I ever want to see him perform live.
THANK GOD FOR YOUTUBE! And RIP Rick Wright. He is missed beyond words.
