Merlin Media is looking for the ultimate Cluster Sales Leader. Desired Skills & Experience:
- College Degree - a degree in Marketing or Communications is preferred.
- At least 3 years experience managing at a senior level in media
- Welcome attitude to adapt and outperform in a fast paced, well funded start up environment
- Excellent Leadership abilities, being the face of the organization in the streets and in the building.
- Highly Organized and Strategic
- Fearless approach to business, creating strength via a group of assets
- Excellent Communication Skills, internally and externally
- Polished Presentation skills
- Ability to lead a staff on mining leads, cold calls and relationship building
- Achieve or exceed multiple sales quotas and productivity targets
- Strong knowledge of the radio and media industry
- Experience managing multiple business units simultaneously.
- Exceptional client management and time management skills.
- Excellent ability to manage and optimize inventory
- Passionate about developing and selling non spot assets, such as events, digital, community and social media.
- Excellent listening skills - ability to match a client’s needs with our products, and our sellers skills to appropriate tasks.
What you will be doing:
- Lead the sales managers and staff to increase revenue and yield for our stations and business units.
- Lead all areas of business development, both direct and via agencies. Building a substantial pipeline that will result in the achievement of assigned revenue goals.
- Interact with Programming and Promotions being the liaison between all departments and sales.
- Effectively managing inventory creating the highest possible yield for the company
- Oversee the National Sales Department for the Chicago market, leading the rep firm to represent our product and offerings, creating year over year growth.
- Managing high volume daily sales activities to achieve or exceed assigned quota.
- Build and maintain customer relationships with key decision makers and influencers to obtain new sales, maximize product/services satisfaction and ensure proper post-sales support is provided.
- Having the ability to penetrate an account and grow our business throughout the organization and drive customer satisfaction into the entire account both personally, and via our salesforce.
- Meet with key customers on a regular basis to strengthen relationships and to obtain additional business.
- Leading effective sales meetings and training, insuring our staff is ready to meet all challenges coming their way.

Account Executive
The Loop 97.9 (WLUP-FM) is currently seeking a highly-motivated, positive, successful sales person to join its sales team. Successful candidates must possess strong work ethic, a desire to win, and a savvy business sense. The Account Executive will report to the Local Sales Managers.
Job Responsibilities:
Represent major market radio station(s) to clients and advertising agencies in the Chicagoland area, enhance existing accounts and develop new business through qualified prospecting of potential advertisers/ marketers, cold calling and a high volume of sales appointments. Assess prospective clients’ needs/ goals from a marketing/ media perspective and present a customized solution, close the sale and monitor the program with consistent “super-service”. Sell special event, promotional marketing opportunities and “integrated” lifestyle programs such as concerts as well as traditional “spot selling”.
Requirements include but are not limited to:
• Experience in client prospecting in a related field
• An understanding of developmental sales work–“direct to customer selling”
• Experience selling “integrated” sales programs–involving more than one medium
• Track record of sales success
• Ability to manage a budget and hit goals
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Attention to detail–ability to meet deadlines
• Internet savvy
• College degree preferred
• MS Office, PowerPoint skills
• Ability to multi-task and work in fast-paced environment
• A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record is required

On-Air Host
Merlin Media, LLC – Chicago is looking for on-air hosts who can relate to the target audience, aren't stuck in the same old mold, have updated their presentation and style, understand topicality and urgency and get that interacting with the listener is a lot more than answering the request line, trolling for a hook-up at the end of the night.
Knowledge of rock (from classic to new) music and lifestyle is essential.
Multiple positions are available, and all require hustle, guerrilla attitudes and additional duties. These can include on-air/commercial production/creative imaging, on-air/promotions, on-air/content creation on the website and our various social and digital platforms. What are you great at?
