Job Title: JDriver/Promotion Assistant (Part-time)
Department: Marketing & Promotion
Reports to: Promotion Director
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

WLUP, 97.9 The Loop is looking for an energetic team member with extensive driving and towing experience. Position will require towing a covered auto trailer, or similar large trailer. Car racing experience & carmechanical knowledge a plus. A CDL is not required. This position supports the Promotion Department in the development and execution of station promotional efforts, publicity, special events and projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Transporting The Loop stock car and trailer to events around the Chicagoland area.
2. Handling of Loop Stock car at events.
3. Must be able to maneuver trailer and vehicle safely.
4. Executes station promotions (Sales promotions, concerts, festivals, street marketing, etc.)
5. Assists in planning & management of all station promotions.
6. Collects, copies, organizes, and disseminates promotional materials.
7. Interacts with the general public & clients during events and other promotional activities.
8. Serves as a liaison for the promotions department assisting the department as needed.
9. Corresponds with vendors and/or venue organizations at concerts & promotional events.
10. Ensures station vehicles used in promotional activities are in safe working order.
11. Reports to Promotions Coordinator & Promotions Director
12. Other job-related duties as required.

Requirements:
• Age – 21 years or older
• Must possess valid driver's license and a demonstrated good driving record for operation of station vehicles
• Minimum 3 years towing experience in any industry
• Ability to meet federal/state/company driving standards (may include license verification, drug testing, driver's test and medical card.)
• Please include all driving/towing experience on resume and supply references
• Vehicle maintenance and/or mechanic experience a plus
• Knowledge of stock car racing
• Marketing & promotional background a plus
• Outgoing and upbeat personality is a MUST!
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with the public and as a team.
• Must work in a cooperative manner; interacting effectively with all station personnel, clients, outside vendors and listeners.
• Ability to work independently and operate effectively in high-pressure, time-critical situations
• Be able to work 20-30 hours/per week, including week nights and weekends

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED). College Degree Preferred.
• A previous working relationship with media contacts, public relation firms and/or special events background, a plus.
• Computer proficient and able to use standard office equipment (i.e., computer, copier and fax machine)
• Must be willing to work in a smoke-free environment.
• Ability to multi-task and work long and varied hours
