PaulMcCartney.comThe next time we hear new music from Paul McCartney, it might not be on a traditional album, but rather on the soundtrack of a video game. The Beatles great posted a statement on his official website over the weekend, declaring, "I'm really excited to be working on writing music with Bungie, the studio that made Halo."
Accompanying the announcement is a photo of McCartney alongside Marty O'Donnell, who composes music for the Bungie company's games. On Saturday, O'Donnell posted a link to the same pic on his Twitter account along with a message that reads, "May 2012 Abbey Road Studios. Working with a friend on new music."
No details have been revealed about the video game for which McCartney is writing music. According to NME.com, the rock legend admitted in an interview earlier this year that he was intrigued by the possibility of contributing to a video game.
"It's a fascinating market," he told Germany's Die Zeit newspaper. "A new computer game sells so much better than a new CD these days. Young people will hear my music for the first time in a game."
