Jon Bon Jovi to Play Iowa Concerts in Support of Obama

10/2/2012 Bon Jovi is heading to Iowa this Friday to lend his support to President Obama.  The Des Moines Register reports that Jon will give a concert at 5 p.m. in that city's Western Gateway Park in order to promote the president's re-election campaign.  Before that, according to KCRG-TV, he'll perform a free acoustic concert in Iowa City at 3:30pm.  That's described as an "Obama for America early-voting event."

Bon Jovi is a longtime supporter of the president's.  He was one of the many performers at his Inauguration Day concert on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in January of 2008, along with U2, Bruce Springsteen, James Taylor, Sheryl Crow, Garth Brooks, Beyonce and many more.  In 2010, President Obama appointed Jon to the White House Council for Community Solutions, where he provides advice on solving specific community needs, among other tasks.
