Blue NoteVan Morrison's new album, Born to Sing: No Plan B, the legendary singer/songwriter's first studio effort in more than four years, hits stores today. The 10-song collection marks Morrison's return to Blue Note Records, the famed jazz label that released his 2003 album, What's Wrong with This Picture?
In a recent interview with the Belfast Telegraph, the crooner talks about the meaning behind his new album's title.
"Singing is my profession. There is no plan B," he explains. "Maybe there might be one later on? I don't know!...There isn't one right now."
Morrison has released an official video for his new tune "Born to Sing" that can be viewed online now. The clip features a live performance by Van and his band shot at his concert in East Belfast, Northern Ireland, last month. Fans can also get a taste of the album by checking out a YouTube video that features audio snippets of the record's 10 tunes.
Morrison has a variety of fall tour dates lined up in the U.K. and Ireland in support of Born to Sing: No Plan B, although he currently has no confirmed North American shows on his itinerary. Visit VanMorrison.com to check out all his forthcoming concerts.
