As if being the busiest man in rock wasn’t already enough, Dave Grohl is in the middle of taping a new series for HBO.  If you enjoyed his Sound City documentary as much as I did, you'll love this.

The new series is basically an extension of Sound City and follows him to recording studios around the world (including Chicago's Electrical Audio studio) and features interviews with musicians like Joe Walsh who’ve recorded there.

Other interviews already in the can include Kiss frontman Paul Stanley and Heart’s Nancy Wilson. The series may be ready for a fall debut.

At least one episode is expected to take us inside the recording of the new Foo Fighters album in several different studios.  The Eagles’ Joe Walsh told The Hollywood Reporter that he laid down some guitar with Foo Fighters during one studio visit. “I was a Foo Fighter for two days and played on a track of theirs that’s gonna come out,” he says.

Where does Grohl get the energy to have so many irons in the fire?  When you're doing what you love, that's not even a concern.
