It was a true rock ‘n roll injustice when, in 1985, Michael Jackson outbid Paul McCartney for publishing rights to Beatles songs.  While Sir Paul didn’t allow that to disassociate with his own music, he was never happy about it.

“The annoying thing is I have to pay to play some of my own songs. Each time I want to sing Hey Jude I have to pay,” said McCartney.

Well, now justice can be served.  Thanks to a US Copyright Act of 1976, Paul can win back those publishing rights to the music he wrote with John Lennon.
