The Loop

KANSAS documentary coming March 24th. Watch the trailer.

Now I get it.  The Kansas song, "Miracles Out of Nowhere," makes sense.  The band Kansas was a bunch of guys from small-town Topeka, Kansas, all extraordinarily talented, who wanted to make an album.  Keep in mind that this was before the Internet, so you couldn't just Google "how do I get a record deal?"

How they went from playing biker bars to signing with Don Kirshner's record label, selling millions of albums and breaking arena and stadium attendance records is the story behind the documentary, "Miracles Out of Nowhere."

Helmed by Emmy-nominated director Charley Randazzo, "Miracles Out of Nowhere" combines interviews with rare and unseen footage, including live performances, taking viewers back to the band’s hometown, Topeka, Kansas, and revealing the artists’ memories of touring, songwriting and recording, including how "Dust in the Wind" was just a finger exercise that became a smash hit; their experience recording in the studio next to John Lennon; a backstage fight with Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler; and how the words “free beer” changed their lives forever.

Regrets?  Well, they do wish they had hired an attorney early on before signing away the publishing for their platinum selling albums.

The film, which recently had its worldwide premiere at the Santa Barbara Film Festival, will be released on March 24, and is available for pre-order through the band's site miraclesoutofnowhere.com and Amazon.  Fans who purchase the pre-order directly from Kansas will receive a bonus DVD of footage that will not be released in stores. Pre-ordered copies of the limited edition version ship on March 16, 2015.
