Lynyrd Skynyrd’s last remaining original member is recovering from what, according to his daughter, was a very serious heart attack.
Guitarist Gary Rossington remains hospitalized, and his daughter posted the news via social media. “Please keep him in your prayers as well as the amazing medical staff that have saved his life several times now.” She goes on to document Rossington’s recurring heart issues.
Earlier this year the band was forced to cancel a performance when Rossington was hospitalized with an abdominal infection. A pair of shows, one in Indiana, another in Michigan have been postponed to 2016.
His peers are reaching out via social media, including former Skynyrd drummer Artemus Pyle who posted “I love you, Gary”. The Loop sends best wishes to Gary and his family.
