Scott Weiland Cause of Death Revealed

We have word from the Hennepin County Coroner in Minnesota as to the cause of death for former Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland.  As most suspected, it appears to be a mix of drugs plus an underlying heart condition and asthma.

According to the coroner, Weiland, 48, died of “mixed drug toxicity,” the coroner’s report said. Cocaine, alcohol and methylenedioxyamphetamine (MDA) were found in his bloodstream. MDA, chemically related to the drug ecstasy was also found.

Weiland died December 3rd and was found in his tour bus in a hotel parking lot near the Mall of America in Bloomington, MN.  His current band The Wildabouts were enroute to a concert in Rochester, MN.
