The Loop regrets to announce the death of Eagles co-founder and guitarist Glenn Frey today in New York City. Frey’s death was the result of complications from a November intestinal surgery and pneumonia. He was 67 years old. His surgery sidelined the Eagles as the were scheduled to perform in December and be celebrated at the Kennedy Center Honors.
In addition to his work with the Eagles, Frey’s solo career produced hits such as “The Heat Is On”, “You Belong To The City”, “Smuggler’s Blues” and “True Love” in the 1980’s.
The Eagles posted a brief statement on their website which you can access here: EAGLES GLENN FREY STATEMENT
