High Drama On The High Seas

Sounds like things really hit the poop deck on Def Leppard’s “Hysteria on the High Seas” fan cruise, which TMZ termed “the cruise from hell.  Frontman Joe Elliot suffered vocal issues at a full band concert, forcing him offstage after seven songs.  Guitarists Phil Collen and Vivian Campbell filled the void, as did Last in Line‘s Andrew Freeman, Mr. Big‘s Eric Martin and Kip Winger, all other artists appearing on the voyage.  It had been a long day for Elliot, having performed an acoustic set during which he honored the late David Bowie and attending a VIP reception with fans.

Fans aboard where also stunned to hear that former Dio bassist, who was sailing to perform with The Last In Line, had died aboard the ship in his cabin.  The suspected cause is pneumonia.
