November 8th will see the release of Sting’s twelfth studio album “57th and 9th”, which is the New York City address where the studio the album was recorded at in just a few short weeks is located. This effort is billed as a return to Sting’s roots in rock, and he tells Rolling Stone, “It happened very quickly, very spontaneously. My idea always is to surprise myself and the people I’m working with—and, hopefully, the listeners.”
And in setting listeners up with what to expect when they hear it, “It’s about searching and traveling, the road, that pull of the unknown. On this album, we ended up with something that’s energetic and noisy, but also thoughtful.”
