Floyd Guitarist Gilmour Sparks Protest Over Building Plans

Drawing the ire of the residents in Hove, East Sussex, England, Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour and his wife Polly Samson have proposed building a new home for his very large eight child family on the site of a 122 year old bath house.  The building also served as a temporary hospital during World War II.

While residents would like to keep the basic framework of the original building along with its heritage features, Samson says that architectual inspections show the building cannot be saved.

Humorously, residents have hung posters with their take on Pink Floyd lyrics, ‘we don’t need no demolition, we don’t need no thoughtless plans’, a play on “Another Brick In The Wall”.  And also asks Gilmour to ‘leave our ‘hood alone’, signed  ‘Save Hove from property tycoons’.

You can see the sign, the building and read more HERE.
