5 things you may not know about Bon Jovi

Sure, you know Bon Jovi’s songs, but do you know these five facts about Bon Jovi?

1. Jon Bon Jovi’s first recorded work was singing on a Star Wars-themed Christmas album. That’s him on “R2-D2, We Wish You a Merry Christmas.” To quote another band: It’s a long way to the top if you want to rock and roll.

2. Bon Jovi’s been nominated for a bunch of Grammys, but has only won one: The Best Country Collaboration with Vocals award for “Who Says You Can’t Go Home” with Jennifer Nettles (2007).

3. Jon Bon Jovi’s mom, Carol Sharkey, was a Playboy bunny.

4. Jon Bon Jovi’s first movie appearance came in Young Guns II; he had an uncredited role as “Pit inmate shot back into pit.” He wrote “Blaze of Glory” for the movie, which hit #1 on the Billboard chart.

5. Jon Bon Jovi co-owned Arena Football League team the Philadelphia Soul from 2004-2008.
