Swearing is good for you

How about this news, f****rs? Huffington Post has done its share of research and come to the conclusion we’ve all long suspected: Swearing might make you “happier, healthier and more honest.”

Here are some of the reasons why:

1. We communicate more clearly when we swear. HuffPo includes a quote from a BBC report: “By swearing, we not only communicate the meaning of a sentence, but also our emotional response to the meaning.”

2. Profane people might be more trustworthy. There’s science behind this. Researchers did a series of evaluations that showed people who swear have higher honesty levels. Seriously. No bull****.

3. Pain is no big deal. Ever belt out a loud curse word (or string of curse words) when you’ve hit your funny bone or dropped something on your foot? That verbal release has been thought to help with pain response, which some have likened to the narcotic effect of morphine.

4. SMART PEOPLE SWEAR. This is the one I’m going to hang my hat on. Studies say people who know their way around profanity probably have a larger vocabulary. Who’s ready for a ****ing game of Scrabble?
