Bill Ward to Rejoin Black Sabbath? Don’t Get Your Hopes Up

Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi says the band hasn’t ruled out one last reunion with their classic drummer Bill Ward, and even though he remains on friendly terms with Ward, he tells Gigwise there have been no discussions on the topic.

When asked if the band approached Ward about their upcoming “The End” tour, Iommi responded “No, to be honest.  I don’t know if that’s gonna happen.  But who knows?  You never know.”

As the band prepared to record 2013’s reunion album “13”, Ward claimed the band didn’t give him a “proper contract”.  Singer Ozzy Osbourne insisted that Ward was in no shape to tour.

Iommi recently ran into each other at an awards show and Iommi was apparently happy to see Ward.  “It was good.  It was great to see Bill.  Bill and I stayed in contact.  Not as much as we used to, but we do stay in contact.  But it was really nice him and it was just a nice warm feeling to be with Bill again.”

So we’ll see 3/4th’s of the classic Black Sabbath line-up when they appear on just the second show of “The End” tour on January 22nd at United Center.
