Pearl Jam Joined By Cheap Trick & Sting at NYC Show

Known for their widely varying sets from night to night, Pearl Jam has been marking the 25th anniversary of the release of their debut album “10” by playing it front to back in a few cities.  The band has also promised something big to commemorate their first record this year, although they have yet to disclose any plans.  You may recall the 20th anniversary in 2011 was marked by a three day festival at Alpine Valley.

Last night was a special at Madison Square Garden.  Pearl Jam leaned heavily on material from “10”, but also brought a few surprise guests onstage.  Including Illinois’ newly minted Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Rick Nielsen and Tom Peterssen of Cheap Trick for a rousing rendition of “Surrender”.  Good quality video here….

Also joining Pearl Jam onstage in The Big Apple last night for the brooding “Driven To Tears”, Sting….
