Listen: First Track from Judas Priest’s new ‘Redeemer of Souls’

Judas Priest have unveiled the album title, cover art and the first song from their upcoming studio album, ‘Redeemer of Souls.’  This is their first album since 2008, and the 17th studio album in all. Redeemer of Souls will be released on Columbia in the UK and Epic in the US on 14 July.

It was a little more than a month ago that Halford revealed the band were finished with ‘Redeemer of Souls,’ which will be the first Priest album to feature new guitarist Richie Faulkner. He was appointed the successor of K.K. Downing in April 2011, and clearly adds new vitality to the band.  His first performance with the band occurred on 25 May 2011 on American Idol, where the band played Living After Midnight and Breaking the Law with contestant James Durbin.

According to Ultimateclassicrock.com, guitarist Glenn Tipton told fans not to expect wild experimentation. "Sometimes in the past we may have come under fire for being too adventurous musically – so we have listened," he said. "From start to finish, Redeemer of Souls is 18 songs of pure classic-Priest metal."
