Fogerty, Mellencamp & Stevie Nicks Vow to Help Homeless Veterans

Over a dozen celebrities have teamed up with Veterans Matter to generate awareness about the issue of homeless veterans and to help raise funds that will decrease the number of unhoused vets on our streets.

To help raise money for Veterans Matter, an Ohio-based organization that helps homeless veterans find homes, John Fogerty, John Mellencamp, Stevie Nicks, Kid Rock and ZZ Top’s Dusty Hill will be featured in radio commercials urging listeners to take part in their texting donation campaign for the month of May, with 100% of texting donations going toward the Veterans Matter housing program.

To donate to Veterans Matter, text VETS to 41444.  Unlike other charity texting campaigns, there is no standard donation per text, so you can pledge any amount you would like.

To date, Veterans Matter has housed 235 veterans, and veteran families, in six states. Partnering with the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Veteran Affairs (VA), Veterans Matter provides rental deposits for homeless veterans who qualify for voucher-assisted living but are unable fund the initial housing costs.
